About the Musical

Broadway heavy hitters, Alan Menken (Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Disney's The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical, Once on This Island), breathe fantastic new life into the classic tale of A Christmas Carol.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated "Bah! Humbug!" Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he's forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present and Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful "Happy Christmas" before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.

This musical adds so much depth and joy to this age-old story of redemption. This year, our show features a steampunk Victorian design. By adding gears, clocks, and an industrial twist on the Victorian styles, we hope to symbolize how each of us cannot act independently from those around us (gears) and time is always ticking (clocks) so we have to make choices for our life and the legacy we want to leave behind.

Child age recommendations: we recommend parents decide the best age for their children to come and sit quietly for the entirety of the performance. This is a family-friendly show, but keep in mind there are some ghostly scenes (with some silliness) intended to frighten Scrooge; these scenes might be frightening to the very young. All children must have a ticket and must be accompanied by a parent at all times.

Spread joy by bringing a TOY DONATION to The Salvation Army Toy Shop!

Please bring a new, unwrapped toy donation for children ages 0-14. We will have a collection box in the church lobby, and we’ll deliver them to The Salvation Army in time for Christmas distribution!
