Past Shows

The pinnacle of the year for Bunce Performing Arts is the annual backyard musical in the summer.  The Bunce Family produced their first backyard musical, Oliver, in 2007.  Since then Bunce Performing Arts has presented an outdoor musical theater production FREE to the public for the past 2 decades, with an average nightly attendance between 500-800 people and a record attendance of nearly 1100 in a single evening!

Bunce shows have gained a loyal following due to the high production quality and the welcoming environment. Each musical production features a live orchestra pit, as well as professional-level sound and lighting.  

Each production requires a staff of directors and technical personnel as well as hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours. Cast members volunteer their time during productions to help build the set and create costumes, props, and other show elements in order to learn the value of the hard work that goes into a show. Volunteers from the community arrive for the week of the show and graciously give their time to help in the parking lot, usher guests, serve in the concession stand, and help in numerous other important ways. 

In 2012, Bunce Performing Arts became a non-profit organization, and in 2023 officially moved to a FULL SEASON of shows year-round, including a Winter Holiday show, a Spring show, and a Summer show. Additions to the season can include a "Collaboration Project" with local artists and companies, a YOUTH PRODUCTION, and the incredible year-round performances by the BEAT (Bunce Educational Adventure Theatre).
