BPA's mission statement:
Bunce Performing Arts tells stories of hope and encouragement to the communities we serve and offers access to theatrical opportunities to people of all ages through affordable, high-quality theatre productions. We cultivate the development, education, and advancement of performers and leadership teams with artists from all levels of experience.
In a brand new “Collaboration Series,” BPA gives space to artists to explore passion projects under the supervision and guidance of experienced production staff members. This project was born of a desire to give life to new theatre projects, new playwrights, or fresh compositions.
This month-long adventure allows for artists to explore new territory with the security and guidance of Bunce Performing Arts as an established organization and with a designated production manager overseeing the project. The series is a space for composers to test out their compositions, for writers to have table reads, discussions, workshops, and performances, and a place for new production companies to get their footing. It’s a spot for forming choirs, for bands, for dance, for exploration, and for innovation.
The Collaboration Series made its debut in 2024 with The Last Five Years, the inaugural production of Hidden Gem Productions.
We are so excited to see what the next project may be--and it could be YOURS. 2025 project submissions will be due by March 23, 2025. Online form will open February 7, 2025.

“An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, the show’s unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.”
Directed by Luke Peterson and featuring Jillian Bader and Jamie Marshall—all three performers in our 2023 production of Elf the Musical. Music Directed by Sean Barker. Managed by Sharayah Russell and produced by Bunce Performing Arts.
